A special duo from The Netherlands, pianist Nora Mulder and percussionist Rogier Smal: free improv of the first order. Subtle and delicate sonic explorations are alternated by noisy and physically felt sound eruptions; concentrated and attentive interactions are interspersed by musical battles in which the piano tries to overrule the drums and vice versa; passages which makes one think of serious contemporary composed music are mixed with humorous adventures, accruing from the famous Dutch improv scene around ICP and The Willem Breuker Collective. Mulder and Smal guarantee exciting, challenging, and surprising performances.
